NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS FOR SITE STEWARDS

 

Local 2081 president, Edward Schwartz, has announced that nomination meetings for site stewards will be held on April 14, 2010 at each of the various work locations throughout Cook County.  Steward elections will follow on April 28, 2010.  Don’t forget to vote!

COUNCIL 31 SETTLES STATEWIDE GRIEVANCES OVER PENDING LAYOFFS

 

As part of a court injunction, AFSCME and CMS engaged in discussions to settle grievances over layoffs at the Departments of Corrections, Human Services, and Veteran’s Affairs.  As of this week, the parties have reached a settlement.

The Local 2081 Election Committee has released a revised list of candidates for the executive board.  The listed candidates will be running for their respective offices in the Local 2081 General Election scheduled for December 9, 2009.

LOCAL 2081 HOLIDAY PARTY ANNOUNCED

 

The Local 2081 Holiday Party will be held at Andriana’s at 2024 W. 163rd St., in Markham, on December 11th, 2009.  The exact time has not yet been determined.  The event is free for all members and fair shares.  Guest tickets are $25 when purchased in advance.
